Investigators looking into cause of north Jackson duplex fire
JACKSON, Tenn.-Fire investigators are looking into the cause of a north Jackson house fire. Firefighters were called to a duplex on Hatchmor Drive just before 7 p.m. Friday. Investigators said when they arrived, fire was coming from the from the roof. Crews on the scene told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News the homeowner was asleep inside but woke up to the smell of smoke and make it out safely. The battalion chief did not want to talk on camera but said they believe the fire started in the garage area and a portion of the duplex is a total loss. There were no injuries and the fire is under investigation.
