Lane College students show support to students at Univ. of Missouri
JACKSON, Tenn.-Students at Lane college showed their support for activists at Mizzou who protested and had their president step down. The peaceful rally was held on the steps of the administration building late Wednesday afternoon. The president of the Student Government Association gave a speech in support of the anti-racism movement. Participants said they felt support from a historically black college was important. “I’m sure at this point they feel alone on their campus so to know that other historically black campuses and other campuses are supporting them, it gives them that backing that backing, that support, that they have other people behind them,” said Brian Simmons, president of the Student Government Association. The service concluded with the students holding hands and saying a prayer.
