LHS Beta Club honored at state convention
LEXINGTON, Tenn.-Students at one area high school were honored this past weekend at the Tennessee Beta Club Convention in Nashville. From Lexington High School, Ms. Katy Hayes won second in the Creative Writing Division and Ms. Beverly Raudry won second in the Spanish division. Also the LHS Beta Club won second in group talent with their musical performance of four songs from the group “Imagine Dragons”. The performance consisted of 74 students. All of these students will represent the State of Tennessee at the national convention in New Orleans, LA in June. Also at the Beta Convention, From Liberty High School, Mr. Knox Cavitt was elected as the statewide president of the club. He will be the Tennessee nominee for National Club President. The National Beta Club is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America currently with more than 450,000 members. Its mission is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.
