Man surrenders to authorities, charged with second-degree murder

BENTON COUNTY, Tenn.-A Benton County man has turned himself in after authorities charge him with attempted second-degree murder.. Earlier this month, Adam Baugus was in a field with his brother when deputies say they got into an argument. Investigators said Baugus attempted to run over his brother with a pick-up truck and that is when the brother fired multiple shots in self-defense, one of which struck Baugus in the back of the head. He is being held at the Benton County jail on $50,000 bond. Baugus is expected to make a court appearance Wednesday.
