Police search for gunman after convenience store robbery
JACKSON, Tenn. — The armed robbery of the Easy Mart on North Highland Avenue had police searching near downtown Tuesday night for the gunman. Officers said just before 8:30 p.m., the suspect walked into the convenience store and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk complied and the man was seen running from the store in a northwest direction. No one inside the store was hurt. Investigators said the gunman was a short black man. He was last seen wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt, gray gloves, a yellow surgical mask, black pants and white shoes. Officers said he threatened the clerk with a silver handgun.
