Pop-up shop offers locally made gifts

JACKSON, Tenn. — A locals-only shopping experience popped up in the hub city this weekend. The Yuletide Pop-up Shop set up in the New Southern Hotel for the weekend.

The holiday store featured hand-made items from across the state. “It’s the idea of you’re buying something unique that was made from someone’s hands but also supporting that person too,” Lisa Garner said. Garner created the unique shopping experience. She said she spends months curating the items to feature for each pop-up. “I’m looking for specific people’s work that I would like to sell,” she said. “Most all of them are locals,” she said, with the exception of a few artists submitting items from Knoxville and Memphis. The store will set up again on December 4th and 5th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Alba Coffee and Tea, located in downtown Jackson at 112 E Baltimore Street.
