Survey: TN best state in U.S. to raise family

JACKSON, Tenn.-A new study names the Volunteer State, the best place in the country, to raise a family. The study cites low costs for big budget items, such as child care. In Tennessee, residents pay just 63 percent of the national average. Tennesseans also pay $200 less a month for rent and pay less, for food. “It’s certainly an asset because when we talk about living in Jackson, quality of life and the affordability of living in Jackson and the surrounding communities, it’s certainly something that’s a strong point,” said Kyle Spurgeon, president and CEO of The Chamber.
