Union University fans, faculty and alumni got a jump start on the basketball season on Thursday. The school showcased their men’s and women’s team during their annual Bulldog Madness. The late-night event featured contests, giveaways and a scrimmage by both teams. “I think we want the atmosphere and community to have fun,” head coach Mark Campbell said. “This is the introduction I have for eight new players to basketball here at Union.” The Lady Bulldogs were selected by the Gulf South Conference to finish first in the preseason. The men’s team was picked to finish third. Both teams’ season opener is during homecoming on Nov. 7 against Rhodes College.
