Van crashed through couple’s back deck, dead woman inside
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A Knox County couple says they woke up in the middle of the night to find a van had smashed through their deck with an injured man and dead woman inside.
WVLT-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1PzEvkT) the 1996 Chevy Astro had to jump off the road, climb a brushy hill and plow through a tree before hitting Gary and Pam Kiln’s back porch at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Gary Kiln rushed out of the house to find the driver half-dressed and bleeding from the head. Investigators who came to the scene then found a dead woman was in the backseat. They are waiting for an autopsy to determine how she died.
The driver was taken to UT Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
