Warner’s Warriors give big gift to St. Jude

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — As Warner Wood approaches his one year anniversary for a leukemia diagnosis, he and his family give a big donation to the hospital that’s treating him. Warner was just two years old when he found out he had cancer. He’s been a patient at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis ever since. He still goes every Monday for treatment. Like all patients at St. Jude, the Wood family pays nothing for the cutting-edge care. To show their thanks, the family from Lexington held a fundraiser earlier this year. This week, they donated all $25,000 they raised. Known as “Warner’s Warriors,” they’ve pledge to continue to raise money and support the hospital.
