Holiday season launches with annual Jackson Christmas Parade

Jackson Christmas Parade

JACKSON, Tenn. — The holiday season was officially ushered in Monday night in the Hub City with the annual Jackson Christmas Parade.

Thousands lined the street to see and hear the sounds of the season. Marching bands, colorful, festive floats and various organizations all made up this year’s parade.

WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News asked some of the attendees what is their favorite part of the Christmas parade.

“It’s just a good feeling, you know. How the world is now, it’s good to see kids smile and know that you’re bringing a good thing to town,” said Duran Johnson with Southern Trucks and 4×4.

“The excitement in the children’s eyes. That’s my favorite part. The excitement of Christmas,” said Sharon Cole of Madison County Parks and Recreation.

“I love seeing that. I love seeing the excitement, especially in the little children. They’re looking forward to Christmas. I just enjoy that and to be a part of that,” Melvin Lewis said.

The night kicked off with the lighting of the city’s Christmas tree in front of City Hall.
