Liberty playing in Jonesboro Shootout
JACKSON, Tenn. – The basketball season is just getting started for Liberty’s boys team. The Crusaders have a 2-3 record after a Tuesday loss to South Side.
Team chemistry has been a primary focus during the month of December.
“We still seeing what fight we got in us. Learning each other early in the season,” head coach Terrell Green said. “Right now we using these early games as a preseason before we try to make a good run in the postseason.”
All that matters to Liberty is doing well in the District 15-A. The Crusaders first contest isn’t until Dec. 18 against Haywood.
Coach Green is hoping a trip to Arkansas can help the team get better.
“They got a team from Texas, St .Louis, and Chicago,” Green said about the Jonesboro Shootout. “Should be a good tournament for us. Should give us a good look with not playing teams from around here.”
Liberty will compete in Arkansas from Thursday to Saturday. Their next home game is against undefeated Westview on Tuesday, Dec. 15.
