Milan PD hosts ‘Shop with a Cop’
MILAN, Tenn.-A special shopping trip for 70 kids in Milan Tuesday night.
The Milan Police Department hosted its annual ‘Shop with a Cop’ event at the Milan Walmart.
State and local officers shopped with children as they bought items on their Christmas list.
Milan Police Chief Bobby Sellers said ‘Shop with a Cop’ is important for the community.
“It’s important because some of them would wake up on Christmas morning with nothing under the tree, so it’s just our way of spending a little time,” said Chief Sellers.
Milan police raised almost $16,000 for this year’s event and each child received $220 to spend.
