Miracle Man auditions held in downtown Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn. — For the fourth straight year, the City of Jackson will host its Month of Miracles in April. Monday, the city’s Neighborhood Services Department held auditions for the spokesperson for the month long volunteer effort. He’s known as “Miracle Man.”
Young boys auditioned at The Ned. Organizers said they were looking for a charismatic youngster from Jackson, who enjoys meeting people and isn’t camera shy. Miracle Man is featured in television, radio and online promotional efforts. He’s always seen wearing a cape and mask as he promoted volunteerism in the Hub City.
“It’s always fun to have a little person encouraging us older folks to get out and make a difference in the community,” said Monique Merriweather, Director of Neighborhood Services.
During April of 2015, more than 1,500 volunteers participated in various projects throughout the city. Organizers hope to triple the number of projects and volunteers in April 2016.
