Dream Center gives away meals on Christmas Eve

JACKSON, Tenn. — Hundreds of volunteers came out Thursday to help give back to those less fortunate here in the Hub City.

The Dream Center put together hundreds of meals to bring to area apartment complexes where they distributed them to the homeless and those in need.

This is the first year the Dream Center has held an event like this on Christmas Eve, and they say they hope it inspires others to give back.

“What would Jesus do? I believe for his birthday he would have wanted us to give back to the community, to give as much as possible,” said Ebony Harris, a volunteer with the Dream Center. “So with the team I’ve put together, we have come out to give back to the Jackson area to start a movement so we can do this annually every year.”

All of the items used to create the meals came from area businesses or were donations from the community.
