Pedestrian stuck by vehicle

JACKSON, Tenn. — Traffic was closed off in both directions in North Jackson after someone was struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was hit on North Highland right across the street from Englewood Baptist Church.

First responders were investigating a portion of North Highland, which is why the road was initially shut down. The injured pedestrian was airlifted to a Memphis hospital.

Jackson Police say the accident was not a hit and run, and are not sure if speed or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
