Expert offers advice to get fit in ’16

JACKSON, Tenn.- With a new year comes those pesky new year’s resolutions. If you are thinking of shedding a few pounds in 2016, here is some thing to know.

Experts say staying healthy and going to the gym are the number one new year’s resolutions.

A strong support system and keeping motivated is the best route to success, but experts said the biggest thing to remembers is do not think you can do it all at one time.

“You’re not gaining weight overnight so you’re not going to lose it overnight. So as long as you stick to your goals and hit those short term goals to meet your long term goals, it’ll be effective,” said D.J. Brown, with Gold’s Gym.

If you are thinking this resolution might be a bit pricey, many local gyms are offering discounts for the new year to get you started.
