JPD training new recruits on patrol car driving

JACKSON, Tenn.- The Jackson Police Department spent their day Thursday training 8 of their 13 new recruits on patrol car driving.
The recruits learned to drive the different patrol cars in precision driving training and speed training.

“But the main thing is them learning how to drive a police car them being new recruits they got a little nervous tension about themselves that we are gonna get it worked out today before the day is out,” said Sgt. Steven Story of the Jackson Police Dept.

The recruits will be going through the police academy’s 12-week training program. Sergeant Story said Thursday’s training helps them with harder driving courses they will have to take there.
