Riverside hires new football coach

DECATURVILLE, Tenn. – Johnnie Frost has been named the new head football coach at Riverside, according to principal Hugh Smith.

The Panthers new leader previously served as an offensive coordinator at Moore County High School in Lynchburg, Tenn.

Frost says his wife having family from north Decatur County attracted him to the position.

“It being a family affair made it very appealing,” Frost said on Tuesday.Johnnie Frost

Frost replaces Jeff Roberston who resigned in November.

“I’m a high energy guy. I’m also a strength and conditioning fanatic,” Freeze said. “If it’s close in the fourth quarter, we’ll have a chance to take care of it because we’re going to be in better shape.

“I hope to get the kids to buy in and get the community excited about the opportunity to win more football games.”

Riverside isn’t Frost’s first stint as a head coach. Prior to calling plays for Moore County, he jumped started the football program at Community High School.

Frost has also had assistant coaching roles at Cascade and Shelbyville.
