Sheriff’s deputy arrested on theft, forgery charges

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) – A 20-year veteran of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office has been arrested on charges including theft.

Washington County Sheriff Ed Graybeal said in a news release Maj. Gary Bradley has been booked on counts of theft of property between $60,000 and $250,000, conspiracy to commit theft of property between $60,000 and $250,000 and forgery.

Graybeal says further details would be released as they become available.

Bradley has been employed with the sheriff’s office since Sept. 6, 1995. Graybeal says a termination process has been initiated.

Bradley was arrested on a presentment and booked at White County Jail on a $10,000 bond. It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
