2 charged in string of thefts from Sears at Old Hickory Mall
JACKSON, Tenn. — A man and woman appeared Thursday in city court on charges in a string of thefts from Sears at the Old Hickory Mall.
Billy Wayne Franks is accused of running from the store with stolen merchandise and into an awaiting getaway car on six occasions ranging from Nov. 18 to Jan. 4, according to court documents.
Donna Franks is accused of driving the getaway car during a Dec. 16 incident after being identified by a store loss prevention specialist.
During the most recent theft on Jan. 4, Billy Wayne Franks is accused of grabbing a rack of Polo jackets and running outside and into an awaiting gray Ford Taurus.
Court documents say this and the other five incidents were captured on store surveillance video.
Billy Wayne Franks is accused of stealing tool sets during the other thefts.
