Weather Update – 10:30 p.m. Thursday
Showers will continue to linger into the overnight hours. So far, most areas have accumulated under a quarter of an inch of rain. Temperatures will remain steady if not drop only slightly tonight before warming up into the upper 50s and low 60s during the afternoon. Tomorrow will be mainly dry with only a small chance for an isolated shower.
On Saturday, a cold front will approach West Tennessee with an area of low pressure. This will bring showers and thunderstorms to the area for much of the day. Rain could be heavy at times and between tonight and Saturday, some parts of West Tennessee could pick up an inch of rain or more. We’ll have to monitor the risk for severe weather, which at this point appears to be low, but there will be enough energy in the atmosphere to result in one or two strong to severe thunderstorms.
Sunday will be much colder as the cold front moves through bringing temperatures down and only feeling like they’re in the mid to upper 20s because of gusty winds. A few snow flurries will be possible Saturday night into Sunday morning but accumulation isn’t expected this time. Dry weather and sunshine will return on Monday.
Have a great night!
