Skeletal remains identified as missing Madison Co. man
CARROLLTON, Miss. (AP) – Carroll County Sheriff Clint Walker says skeletal remains found by hunters Jan. 3 have been identified as a missing Madison County man.
Thirty-six-year-old Matthew Costello was reported missing on Sept. 4, 2015. Walker tells The Clarion-Ledger Costello’s remains were discovered in the Black Hawk area, approximately 400 yards off a gravel road.
Walker says Costello was identified by dental records Friday. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
A week before Costello was reported missing, his vehicle was located off Road 211 in Carroll County. Walker said the vehicle was located approximately 400 yards from where Costello’s remains were eventually found.
