When officers arrived, they reported finding the victim wounded inside a car.  It appeared to be a gray Pontiac G6.  Bullet holes were visible on the passenger’s side of the vehicle.

According to Sgt. Derick Tisdale, Public Information Officer for the Jackson Police Department, investigators are trying to determine if this was a random or targeted act.  There were no reports of any other injuries.

Tisdale said officers will review footage from crime cameras situated near the crime scene.  He said someone monitors the cameras 24-hours a day, 7-days a week.  According to Tisdale, he doesn’t know if the person watching the crime cameras prompted police response or if a 911 caller alerted dispatch first.
