Snow falls across much of central, eastern Kentucky
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) – Forecasters say snow that began falling Tuesday morning is expected to taper off by late afternoon leaving accumulations of an inch or two across much of north-central and eastern Kentucky.
The National Weather Service in Louisville says some areas of south-central Kentucky could see up to an inch of snow, though some western and southern parts of the state will get only flurries.
Meanwhile, gusty west winds are expected to drop temperatures in central and eastern Kentucky into the single digits with wind chills near zero.
The winter weather and potential for slick roads led several school districts around the state to close, though others remained open.
The weather service says temperatures are expected to rise again tomorrow, with highs in the 30s and 40s.
