Championship Bull Riding returns to Jackson bigger and better

JACKSON, Tenn. – The world’s best bull riders will compete for an unprecedented $72,000 in Jackson over the course of two days beginning Friday.

This is the most amount of money that has been on the line for bull riders competing in Championship Bull Riding at the Oman Arena.

“I’m always anxious to get on,” said rider Cody Rostockyj. “It’s a good thing. It’ll keep you amped up and ready to go.”

Rostockyj, the No. 1 rider in the CBR World Standings, has been coming to Jackson for three years for the CBR tour.

The Texas native hopes to keep his top spot after the weekend is over.

“I ride bulls for living and that’s what I do, but I work when I’m home during the week,” Rostockyj said. “To make 40,000 in a weekend makes you not work as hard when you get back home.”

Doors open at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the Oman Arena. The festivities get underway at 8 p.m.
