City of Jackson announces MLK parade route, street closures

JACKSON, Tenn. — Officials have announced the planned route of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade along with the accompanying road closures.

The parade is set to start at 10 a.m. Monday and depart from T.R. White Sportsplex, located at 304 North Hays Avenue, and head west onto Main Street. The parade then will cross Highland Avenue to Shannon Street along to its conclusion at Mt. Zion Baptist Church at 201 West Chester Street.

The road closures are scheduled to be effective from 9:45 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., according to the city’s engineering department.
