Woman accused of prostitution while HIV positive
JACKSON, Tenn. — A woman appeared Thursday in city court on an aggravated prostitution charge after she reportedly told police she is HIV positive after being arrested.
Cynthia Shelby was arrested Wednesday after police say she approached an unmarked police car on Williams Street and offered sexual acts for money, according to court documents.
After being taken into custody, police say Shelby told them she is HIV positive.
Shelby is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
