TDOT holds safety message contest

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Department of Transportation is again hosting its contest to come up with the best safety message for the department’s electronic signs used on the interstates.

TDOT logoThe goal of the messages is to raise awareness of highway safety.

To enter the contest, which begins Tuesday, Jan. 19, and runs until Feb. 2, go to the TDOT website and click “TDOT Safety Message Contest.”

The public will be able to vote on submissions.

A total of 190 Dynamic Message Signs are located in the state’s four urban areas including Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville, and in some rural areas across the state, according to the TDOT website.
