Residents stock up on salt in anticipation of wintry weather

JACKSON, Tenn.-In an effort to help local and area residents get ready for possible ice and snow a local business stocks up on salt.

R & J Feed on South Highland in south Jackson has the purchased two tons of salt.
Owners and operators of the store say the salt is available to the customers now. Before the inclement weather makes its way into West Tennessee.

“I’ve got about 8 tons now and I called to order more (Tuesday) morning. And it’s gonna be two weeks before we get some more. Once it comes, you have to have it,”  said Ginger Kenmp with R & J Feeds.

As WBBJ Storm Team 7 Chief Meteorologist Tom Meiners said the area could see some freezing precipitation in the overnight leading into Wednesday morning, which could make driveways and sidewalks around your home hazardous.
