Lane College hosts annual MLK, Jr. Convocation

JACKSON, Tenn. — An East Jackson college took time to remember the legacy of one of America’s most well-known civil rights advocates.

Lane College held their annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Chapel Convocation, Wednesday.

Gloria Jean Sweet-Love, Tennessee NAACP Leader and Community leader from Brownsville was the featured speaker.

“It just shows you can do anything if you put your mind to it,” Lane College Student Christopher Johnson said. “A lot of people don’t believe in themselves after going to small schools and HBCU’s, and she knows you can make it.”
