Hub City drivers face snow & ice Friday morning
JACKSON, Tenn. — Touch-and-go driving was how several hit the streets int he Hub City Friday.
“They were covered,” Lucas Stevens said about the roads he had to navigate while driving to Jackson from Milan.
The same description fit the majority of roads across West Tennessee. With snow falling in the early morning hours, for some drivers it meant changing the way they had to drive.
“A very slow trip, because I really care about taking care of the person behind or in front of me but especially myself,” driver Pamela Douglas said.
The majority of roads the WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News crew drove had at least one lane cleared by snow plows.
While most of the main roads appeared to be cleared by mid afternoon, some patches of ice still could be found. A slushy wintry mix is what several drivers said they saw more than ice or sleet.
Stevens said he looks forward to the occasional snow day. “It’s fun.”
