Monroe supervisors, elected officials get pay raise

ABERDEEN, Miss. (AP) – Monroe County supervisors have approved a raise for some elected officials, including themselves.

WCBI-TV reports now that the county’s total assessed value is more than $300 million, state law allows for some elected officials to get a raise.

Supervisors, justice court judges, the county prosecuting attorney, and the board of supervisors’ attorney will now make $44,700. They were making just a little over $40,400.

Salaries of elected officials vary based on the total assessed value of that particular county.
