Man says past auto wreck a factor in death of east Jackson resident killed in house fire

JACKSON, Tenn. — Dinneric Woods is having a hard time coping with the death of Jamarion Henning, who died in an East Chester Street house fire last Monday. Although Woods didn’t know Henning well, the two were involved in an auto accident in 2012.

Screen Shot 2016-01-24 at 8.31.43 PMAccording to Woods, Henning was driving a motorcycle that day and was thrown from the bike. He believed the injuries Henning suffered affected him years later. Woods also believes that if the accident hadn’t occurred a few years ago, Henning would still be alive.

“By the wreck happening, from him not being able to smell and stuff, he having brain damage, he probably would’ve made it out the house,” Woods said.

Woods said he wishes he could turn back the hands of time and that he’s doing everything he can to remind people on the roads to not make the same mistakes he made. “If I had been paying attention, the wreck would have never happened.”

Woods grieves on a daily basis and wishes he could help the family with funeral arrangements.  “Not a single day passes that I don’t think about it. My heart and condolences go out to the family, and I can’t change what happened.”

Those who would like to help with funeral arrangement donations can visit the Seen on 7 section of our website.
