JACKSON, Tenn. — Donations are already coming in at the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation for a fund established in memory of Noah Chamberlin.

“Our community has been giving to this family,” said West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation President Frank McMeen. “The prayers and the support, it’s been amazing.”

Frank McMeen says the Noah Chamberlin Memorial Fund is just another way West Tennessee is helping the family. He said the nonprofit can ensure donations are used properly.

“We work with all the entities involved to make sure that everything done with those funds are done legally and in accordance with the mission of that fund,” McMeen said.

Unlike fundraising sites, the foundation makes sure the family isn’t forced to pay taxes on what’s given, because the organization issues checks for specific services or needs. McMeen said the Chamberlins will know about every donation.

“Every gift that’s made to this fund, we will send a card to the family,” McMeen said. “We’ll never disclose the amount of the gift. So every donation, the family will know about that.”

The foundation hopes the gifts eventually can be used to keep Noah’s spirit alive.

“Either a scholarship program or something that will honor the life of Noah,” McMeen said.

The memorial services for Noah Chamberlain will take place Wednesday at Fellowship Bible Church. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. followed by the funeral at 1 p.m. Wednesday’s services are open to the public.
