Snowstorm car damage at a minimum

NORTH JACKSON, Tenn. — What State Farm Insurance agent, Wesley Harris found when he came to work Monday really morning surprised him. “I was really dreading coming into work today.  I knew  we were gonna have a lot of claims. As of four o’clock, we have had zero auto claims, out of over 2,500 cars that I have insured.”

Despite the cautious attitudes several Jackson residents were involved in accidents.  Many of them brought their dented and banged up cars to Spence’s shop. “I think it’s mostly the ones that we have seen, people who tried to go to work a little bit early that got caught mid morning.”

Even though many drivers in the Hub City escaped a fair amount of damage, Harris says there’s still a major issue with drivers and insurance. “There’s a large number of drivers in the Jackson area that do not have any insurance.”

According to Harris, having auto insurance is not only the law, but can save you from hefty bills. “If you were just lost control on the ice, you’re gonna need to get towed out of a ditch and if they have no insurance, that’s about a 150 dollar tow bill they’ll have to pay.”
