Columbus Municipal School Board reviews its performance
COLUMBUS, Miss. (AP) – The Columbus Municipal School District board of Trustees has evaluated its performance, setting goals that include emphasizing better meeting decorum and promoting greater involvement from the public.
The Commercial Dispatch reports the purpose of the Saturday meeting was for the board to review itself and set goals for the year.
The board agreed that it successfully “keeps the education and welfare of students as their primary concern.”
Board members found they have room to improve in several areas. These included promoting transparency, assuring that the board “represents the interests of the entire district rather than special interest groups,” emphasizing good meeting decorum and encouraging greater outside involvement.
