Fiber Ready designation may attract more jobs to Corinth
CORINTH, Miss. (AP) – The Corinth/Alcorn Industrial Park has been certified as AT&T Fiber Ready, which officials say could help attract jobs.
AT&T Mississippi President Mayo Flynt tells local media that the designation, announced Monday, allows local economic development officials to stress the presence of high-speed, fiber Internet services in the industrial park when companies are looking to move there.
Flynt says the Corinth/Alcorn Industrial Park was the first place in the state to receive the Fiber Ready designation.
From 2012 to 2014, AT&T invested about $950 million into the state.
Alcorn County Board of Supervisors President Jimmy Tate Waldon says the designation provides another “tool” to attract companies and jobs to the industrial park.
