U of M Lambuth offers visit to Mayberry with ‘Andy Griffith Show’ exhibit

JACKSON, Tenn. — A local college library is offering everyone a chance to visit Mayberry.

The University of Memphis Lambuth Campus is hosting a “Forever Mayberry” exhibit, celebrating 55 years of “The Andy Grifith Show,” at the Lambuth Campus Library.

The exhibit will be on display until May 1 during the regular library hours of 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Drawings, photographs, autographs and artwork of many of the original cast members of the long-running program are available for viewing, according to a release from the school.

A 1961 Ford Fairlane, which is a replica of the squad car used on the second season of the program, also will be on campus every Friday, weather permitting, during the spring semester. It will be in the parking lot behind the library.
