Police: Fingerprints link man to burglary of Jackson home
JACKSON, Tenn. — A man is facing charges in a recent burglary after investigators say they matched his fingerprints to those left at the crime scene.
Devonte Grimes has been charged in the Jan. 9 burglary of a home in the 100 block of Bishop Place, according to court papers.
A resident of the home told police she returned home to find a bedroom window pushed inward and several items missing, including a handgun, a pair of pink running shoes, electronics, several pieces of jewelry and $320 in cash and coins.
The total value of the missing property is estimated at $3,200.
Officers collected fingerprints from the scene and matched them with Grimes via the FBI’s fingerprint database, according to court papers.
Grimes is charged with aggravated burglary and theft over $1,000.
