State opens SR 465 in Warren County
VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) – Mississippi transportation officials have opened all lanes and all directions of SR 465 in Warren County that previously were closed due to flooding.
The department said Thursday that the flooded state highway to Eagle Lake is now open, meaning long detours for hundreds of residents is over.
The swollen Mississippi River had forced 26 households to evacuate in the northern part of Vicksburg, which isn’t protected from the Yazoo River by a levee. And more people were displaced from an area on the unprotected side of the Mississippi River levee in the northern part of the county.
