Winston Veneer and Plywood seeking hourly workers

LOUISVILLE, Miss. (AP) – One of the area’s largest new employers will start interviewing for hourly workers next month.

Officials with Winston Veneer and Plywood in Louisville say they are on track to start the interviewing process in February. They say job offers for the first of as many as 350 workers could start in March.

WTVA-TV reports the plant under construction on South Church Street in Louisville still is on target to start production in the spring. Crews are putting the finishing touches on some utilities, continuing to install equipment and working on other important parts of the plant’s interior.

The company says it already has received dozens of applications and prefers people register through the state’s WIN Job Centers.
