Firefighters respond to fire in Humboldt

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — Gibson County firefighters responded to a structure fire around 1 p.m. Sunday on Creek Wood Rd. The shop behind the home was fully engulfed in flames, but no one was home at the time.

The shed was a total loss and the home got some smoke damage.  Sunday’s high wind caused about 4 grass fires near home.

“Nobody was hurt in this,” said  Gibson County Fire Chief Bryan Cathey. “Thank goodness the neighbors were watching and called it in really quick. Neighborhood watch really works.”
The fire chief suspects there was no foul play involved. He said this fire will probably be labeled as an electrical fire.
