Schools to reopen in Crockett County Monday

Schools reopen after EF-1 tornado

CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. — Crockett County middle and high school students will return to classes Monday.

After last weeks EF-1 tornado, schools were closed because of the storm damage. Crews have been working all week to repair classrooms and clean up debris. Sunday the fire Marshall cleared the district to resume classes Monday morning.

“Fortunate and blessed that a lot of people worked very hard, since Wednesday afternoon,” said Crockett County Director of Schools, Bobby Mullens. “And believe it or not the classrooms that were damaged, we’re actually going to be able to go back into them tomorrow morning.”

Director Mullens cautions parents and students to be careful in the parking lot because of storage units around campus. The district will discuss makeup days at Monday nights school board meeting.
