Congressional hopeful George Flinn visits Hub City

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — A Shelby County Republican who wants to replace Stephen Fincher as congressman made a stop Monday in the Hub City.

George Flinn, a radiologist, businessman and owner of radio and TV stations across the country was at a Jackson restaurant and talked with other Republicans.

Flinn, who ran unsuccessfully for the seat before, is one of several candidates who wants the Fincher seat.

“Having done this and having 40 years of practice of medicine, I want to take that wisdom that I’ve gotten and apply it to the the U.S. Congress, apply it to the United States of America for us so that we in the 8th district in West Tennessee can have the values that we need to be there,” Flinn said.

Also running for the seat are Jacksonian Brad Greer, Sen. Brian Kelsey, former U.S. Attorney David Kustoff, Shelby County register of deeds Tom Leatherwood, Shelby County Commissioner Steve Basar and State Rep. Steve McManus.
