Education Vision Committee meets, talks money
JACKSON, Tenn.-The Education Vision Committee met Tuesday night to talk money.
Much of the gathering at the school board meeting revolved around a new e-rate fund. It helps schools afford technology and online tools at a more economical rate.
According to the committee, the $1.4 million fund will be distributed across the Jackson-Madison County School System based on school size and number of classrooms. The money will be used to meet the individual needs of each school.
“Our kids and their future really is determined by how great of a school system we provide for them and that great school system is built with great teachers… great principals… great staff,” said Jackson-Madison County School Superintendent Verna Ruffin.
The school board meeting will be held this Thursday night at 6 p.m.
