Former Jackson police officer begins sentence for offensive touching
JACKSON, Tenn. — Former Jackson police officer Everett Lamont Gray has begun serving a 30-day sentence for an offensive touching conviction.
Gray was convicted in December of the lesser charge after going to trial for counts of rape and sexual battery in an April 2014 incident with a female acquaintance.
According to jail records, Gray turned himself in Monday. Jail officials say he is being housed in a separate area because he is a former officer.
