Carroll Co. Chamber hosts State Sen. John Stevens

CARROLL COUNTY, Tenn. — The Chamber of Commerce hosted a West Tennessee state legislator Friday.

State Senator John Stevens addressed a room full of Carroll County residents Friday afternoon. He spoke about the state’s current battle to balance and approve the budget for the fiscal year.

Sen. Stevens says a bill that would allow carry permits on college campuses is nearing a vote and is something to watch.

“You’re not allowing dangerous people with guns on campus — you’re allowing people to protect themselves when they’re on campus,” he said.

The Carroll County Chamber plans to host their district’s representatives for a community meeting in March and April.
