Gibson Co., McNairy Co. residents charged with TennCare fraud
NASHVILLE — Two West Tennessee residents are facing TennCare fraud charges in separate cases involving doctor shopping for prescription drugs.
Investigators have charged Aubrey Knight Sr., 56, of Trenton and Brittany Norris, 27, of Adamsville, according to a release from the Office of Inspector General.
Knight is charged in Gibson County in an arrest involving multiple prescriptions of the painkiller Hydrocodone, according to the release.
Norris is charged in McNairy County with two counts of TennCare fraud on accusations of doctor shopping for the painkillers Oxycodone and Hydrocodone.
“Prescription drug abuse is a problem across the state, and using TennCare to obtain drugs by doctor shopping is one of our major targets,” Inspector General Manny Tyndall states in the release. “Health care providers and local law enforcement across the state have also stepped up to help enforce the law against doctor shopping within TennCare.”
