Polar Plunge in Union City will raise money for Special Olympics
UNION CITY, Tenn. — Brave souls will take the plunge Saturday for some special members of the community.
The fifth annual Polar Plunge will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at Aloha Pools and Spas in Union City to raise money for the Upper West Tennessee Special Olympics.
The registration fee is $50 to take the plunge.
Organizers say they have Olympic events that take place throughout the year for children and adults.
“It’s amazing the commitment and dedication they have to our athletes, and they all say we are doing this for your athletes, and we aren’t doing this for fun. It is for the athletes and for Special Olympics, and that’s great,” area Special Olympics director Clinton Smith said.
